Accurate distribution to the receiver's feet or path

Why this drill works

The futsal keeper starts the attack — and throwing by hand is fast, accurate, and the primary distribution method. A keeper who can roll and throw to a teammate's feet in space launches counters before the opposition sets. This drill builds the keeper's distribution range and accuracy.

How to run it

  1. The keeper has the ball in goal. Targets (cones or players) at various points on the court.
  2. The keeper rolls or throws accurately to each target — to feet, into space.
  3. Vary the distance: short rolls to a near player, longer throws to launch a counter.
  4. Add live receivers who must control the distribution and play on.
  5. Progress: distribute under time pressure, simulating the quick restart after a save.

?Frequently asked questions

Why throw rather than kick?
A hand throw is faster, more accurate, and harder to intercept than a kick over a short futsal court. The keeper can pick out a teammate's feet instantly and start a counter before the opposition reorganises.
