▦Session blocks

1

Ball mastery circuit

10 min

Four stations, 2.5 minutes each: step-overs, drag-backs, outside cuts, speed dribbles. All players moving simultaneously.

2

Half-space carry drill

15 min

Coach calls HALF-SPACE RIGHT or LEFT. Player drives into channel. Three options: shoot, cut-back, or switch. Passive defenders becoming active.

3

Opposed 1v1 grids

12 min

Six simultaneous 1v1 grids at full intensity. Player must attempt their chosen skill move — no bypassing with pace only.

4

7v7 with skill move scoring

19 min

7v7. Goal after beating a defender with a skill move = 3pts. Standard = 1pt. Coach identifies and calls skill move moments.

5

Review

4 min

Players name their move. Which situations called for it? Which called for a pass?

◆What you'll need from yourself

Confidence to attempt skill moves under genuine pressure. The 1v1 grid with a full-intensity defender is the key block — don't soften it.

!Common problems

Players reverting to pace rather than skill moves — the bonus scoring creates the incentive.
