U11 Finishing Variety
A 60-minute session focused on finishing from different angles, serves, and scenarios — the variety that translates training to matches.
⏱Session timeline
▦Session blocks
Arrival Triangle
0 minFree dribble while squad gathers. By the time the formal warm-up begins, late arrivals are already warm and engaged.
Dynamic Dribbling Square
0 minStandard 16×16 yard square. By minute 6, add called skills. Sets up the body for striking work.
Multi-Direction Finishing
0 minThe technical centrepiece. Run all 4 phases. With 9 players: 3 servers, 3 finishers active, 2 in queue, 1 GK. Build in 60-second water break at minute 12.
Conditioned 4v4
0 minApply the finishing work in match scenarios. Constraint: 'must shoot within 2 seconds of receiving in the attacking third'. Forces the composure under pressure that the technical block built.
Reflection Circle
0 minQuestion: 'name a different type of finish you tried today'. Reinforces the variety theme through verbal recall.
◆What you'll need from yourself
Clear demonstrations and high energy. Keep the session moving with minimal queuing, and reinforce one or two key coaching points rather than overloading players with information.
!Common problems
Players standing in queues (set up enough stations to keep everyone active) and the session running too long on one activity (keep blocks tight and move on while engagement is high).
