Why this drill works

Players are numbered 1–10 and pass in sequence using inside-of-foot passes in a 20×15 grid. Simple, fast-moving, and keeps every player scanning for their next pass. Builds scanning and passing simultaneously without any tactical complexity.

How to run it

  1. Ball starts at player 1, who passes to player 2. Player 2 passes to 3 etc. Multiple balls circulating simultaneously.
  2. Players move after passing — don't stand still.
  3. Progression: call a number to skip ('miss out 3!') — players must adapt.
  4. Progression: add a defender who tries to intercept. First player to complete a full sequence without interception wins.
