Drop in player ability ratings, get balanced teams for SSGs, scrimmages, or tournaments. Same total ability across teams — no kid spends their session being routed.
How does this work?
The checker uses a greedy algorithm: players are sorted strongest to weakest, then each player is assigned to whichever team currently has the lowest total rating. This produces nearly-optimal balance for grassroots SSGs — usually within 1 rating point across teams.
Reshuffle randomises tied-rating players so you can run the same setup with different team mixes session to session.
Rating tip: use 1-5 for most cases. 1 = newer / less confident, 3 = solid, 5 = strongest. Don't overthink it — even rough ratings produce noticeably better-balanced teams than picking by feel.
