About these dimensions
These are the FA-recommended dimensions for grassroots youth football, updated for the 2026-27 Future Fit framework. Each format will be played one year later than under the previous (2012) framework — so 7v7 now starts at U10, 9v9 at U12, and 11v11 at U14.
Where multiple values are listed for goal size or pitch size, both are acceptable under FA guidance. Local league rules may differ — always check before match day.
For the new 3v3 format at U7, exact dimensions are still being finalised by the FA. The values shown are reasonable defaults — confirm with your league.
