How to run it

  1. A team presses high to win the ball in the attacking half.
  2. On winning it, they counter immediately toward goal.
  3. The first action after winning the ball is to attack, not to settle.
  4. Defenders recover, so the counter must be fast.
  5. Track goals scored within 6 seconds of the press winning the ball.

?Frequently asked questions

Why press high then counter?
Winning the ball high means you're close to goal with the opposition unbalanced from their own attack. Countering instantly, before they recover their shape, turns a turnover into a high-quality chance.
