Why this drill works

The pivot (the target player with back to goal) is futsal's focal point. Playing into the pivot, getting the lay-off, and finishing is the game's core attacking pattern. This drill builds the combination that produces a huge share of futsal goals.

How to run it

  1. A pivot stands with back to goal at the edge of the area. A feeder plays into the pivot.
  2. The pivot lays the ball back to a runner arriving from deep.
  3. The runner finishes first-time or with one touch.
  4. Rotate roles so every player learns the pivot lay-off and the finish.
  5. Add a defender on the pivot, forcing a realistic lay-off under pressure.
