Pre-Match Activation
0 minDynamic mobility, passing pairs, 4v1 rondo. Standard pre-tactical activation. Warm bodies, sharp passing before set-piece work.
Throw-In Variants — Tower and Loop Plus
0 minTower (short, shield, lay off) + Tower-Long (the lay-off plays a third runner) + Loop (decoy short, long ball over the top) + Loop-Reverse (decoy long, short to feet). 4 variants, 6 reps each. Named in match scenarios, called by the thrower.
Free Kick Variants
0 minDirect over the wall + Direct around the wall + Indirect (lay-off to second striker) + Dummy-and-strike (full combination). 4 variants. Each with 6 reps at 20–25 yards. Track on-target percentage per variant per striker.
Corner Defending — Hybrid Zonal-Man
0 minSix players: 2 post players (man-mark), 2 central zonal, 2 free man-markers on the most dangerous attackers. The hybrid system most elite clubs use. 6 corners from each side.
Game — Named Routines Only
0 min11v11 game. Every set piece must be called with its specific variant name. Unnamed set pieces give possession to the opposition. Coach tracks: which variants are being called? Which are being executed correctly? The data tells you what next session needs.
◆What you'll need from yourself
Clear demonstrations and high energy. Keep the session moving with minimal queuing, and reinforce one or two key coaching points rather than overloading players with information.
!Common problems
Players standing in queues (set up enough stations to keep everyone active) and the session running too long on one activity (keep blocks tight and move on while engagement is high).
