Pre-Match Activation
0 minStandard activation: dynamic mobility → passing pairs (call name) → 4v1 rondo. 10 minutes. Full intensity in the rondo — the set-piece session needs warm bodies and sharp passing from the start.
All Six Routines
0 minRun each routine for 5 minutes with a passive then semi-active defence. Sequence: (1) Tower throw-in — 5 min. (2) Loop throw-in — 5 min. (3) Wall corner — 5 min. (4) Anchor corner defending — 5 min. (5) Direct free kick — 5 min. (6) Indirect free kick — 5 min. Passive defence first 3 minutes of each routine, semi-active last 2 minutes. Call every routine by name before executing. No unnamed set pieces in this session.
Live Game — Named Routines Only
0 minFull 11v11. Rule: every set piece (throw-in in final third, corner, free kick in danger zone) must be executed with a called routine. Unnamed or improvised set pieces give possession to the opposition. Coach tracks: how many set pieces were named? How many executed correctly? This data replaces traditional match observation for set-piece development.
◆What you'll need from yourself
Clear demonstrations and high energy. Keep the session moving with minimal queuing, and reinforce one or two key coaching points rather than overloading players with information.
!Common problems
Players standing in queues (set up enough stations to keep everyone active) and the session running too long on one activity (keep blocks tight and move on while engagement is high).
